OTA members have identified a need for the Province of Ontario to develop a by-pass route along Highway #6 (Morriston) to end the ever-growing bottleneck in the area for both north and south-bound traffic.
OTA members are not alone; a number of private sector and local governments have been meeting on how best to raise awareness on the need for the province to invest in this project.
Part of the awareness action plan is for all the various parties to attempt to quantify the impact of this Highway 6 congestion on their operations. As representatives of the trucking industry, OTA has been asked to quantify the length and impact of delays currently being experienced by members utilizing Highway 6 through Morriston. OTA has also been asked if commercial fleets can quantify/identify any safety risks associated with the bottlenecks.
